About Liz Anderson Slobodian: As the Senior Public Relations Manager for Firehouse Subs Headquarters, Liz leads public relations and crisis communications for the brand of more than 1,145 restaurants in 45 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and non-traditional locations, and provides public relations services to a franchise community of more than 560 independent small business owners. Daily she directs an agency team and in-house team to communicate strategy, brand vision, story lines, goals, integrated campaigns and more. She recently established and launched Firehouse Subs’ first headquarters PR department. In 2017, Liz directed her team to earn more than 2,940 media stories and 3.5 billion media impressions, surpassing 2.6 billion impressions in 2016 and creating a YOY increase of 34.6 percent. These impressions gained Firehouse Subs $31 million in earned publicity value, which exceeded the publicity value of $25.7 million in 2016 and led to a YOY increase of 20.6 percent, making it the best year in Firehouse Subs’ public relations history.

Before joining Firehouse Subs in 2013, Liz managed public relations for the national nonprofit American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association and worked at a national public affairs firm where she garnered public relations and grassroots community support for several clients, specifically American Indian tribes. Prior to her move to New Mexico, she managed accounts at a global public relations agency in Los Angeles, where her client roster included brands such as Logitech, StubHub, Microsoft, local hospitals and more.

Liz is a graduate of the University of North Florida, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Sport Management. She is Immediate Past-President of the Florida Public Relations Association Jacksonville Chapter, a member of the International Foodservice Editorial Council and University of North Florida Department of Communication Professional Advisory Board, and a professional mentor with the University of North Florida. Additionally, she volunteers for charities across Northeast Florida, mentors upcoming public relations professionals, serves as a local pageant judge, and is a freelance public relations consultant. Liz was recently named 2018 Member of The Year by the Florida Public Relations Association and was also named one of Jacksonville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 professionals for 2018.
