Finding Our Balance: You can do anything, but not everything

For me, summer is over. If you were sitting in my office right now, you’d most probably find me listening “Jingle Bell Rock” as I prepare for our holiday season — checking off list after list after list.

How many of us are given (or have created) what seems like an impossible task list? Sometimes our tasks may seem overwhelming and never-ending.  Who out there has put off a New Year’s resolution or dream, because we were distracted or didn’t plan ahead like we wanted? This girl’s hand is raised high! I know all too well how that list continues to grow and how easy it is to become distracted and lose, or even change, focus.

But with that confession, I want you to know I’m a firm believer in the idea that we can do just about anything, if we really want it and if we can set achievable ways to meet those goals.  This year’s FPRA theme encourages us to Find Our Balance. So, in turn, I want to start off our new membership year with this quote: You can do anything, but not everything.

I challenge you to ask for help. Research. Know your limits. And most importantly, believe you can. Once we know what we can handle and use the resources around us, we can achieve great things.

Let’s find our balance this year!
